Lungomare – Villa Zagreb

A walk along the promenade (Lungomare) offers beautiful Adriatic impressions. The sound of the ocean and the pleasant scent of the Mediterranean flora flourishing here will accompany you on this path. Along the seafront that connects the beaches Sipar and Sv. Ivan, there are magnificent old villas and the highlight on this way is the villa Zagreb. All day long the terraces of the few cafés and restaurants along the promenade that invite you to linger are bustling with activity. The guests relax, watching the sea and dolphins playing with each other not far from the coast may be occasionally observed as well.

Mošćenička Draga - Riviera

At the southernmost point of the Riviera of Opatija, the fishing village Mošćenička Draga, a popular holiday destination is located. The old town of Mošćenička Draga with closely aligned houses and alleys is a typical fishing village, which was erected in the late 19th century, when the inhabitants of the surrounding villages settled there because of fishing. A small port with fishing boats in the middle of the village offers also moorings for the boats of the guests during the summer months and thereby becomes a small marina. Stately villas have preserved the Istrian characterized fishing village its unique flair until now.

Mošćenička Draga – Sv. Ivan

The picture shows the few houses in the immediate vicinity of the beach Sv. Ivan, so to speak a district of Mošćenička Draga. Framed by breathtaking nature you will find the Villa-Inge on the very left of the picture. The location is only a few hundred meters away from the center of the fishing village Mošćenička Draga. The Villa-Inge has its own access road and is therefore accessible by car. On a 173 m high hill the medieval town Mošcenice lies enthroned, whose houses are arranged like a labyrinth. The picture was taken from here to document the magnificent view on the Kvarner Bay.

A glance at the marina of the ACI Marina – Ičići impressively shows how the Istria region has predestined itself in the Kvarner Bay, both for elite tourism from the time of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy as well as for common tourism. Whether you are traveling there with your 40-meter yacht or bring your dinghy, it’s the grown cooperation that makes the region very popular among European tourists. Opatija - Café Wagner

The hotel “Millenium” in Opatija houses the very attractive Café Wagner. Those who spend their holidays in the region should visit the café and should not waive the atmosphere of the Café Wagner. Those who can spend time on the terraces of the Café Wagner directly at the sea, immediately will have the feeling of belonging to an elite circle. Istria – Mošćenička Draga

Since 1850 Istria is known for a healing climate. Today’s Opatija, formerly Abbazia is known as the first regular health resort of the Riviera. Later, according to the example of Opatija more places were added. The money aristocracy built its villas on the coast. In the impressive coastal landscape imposing buildings and great beach promenades were created. The Mediterranean architecture of the coastal region of Istria, the growing history of the region, the focus on traditional things as well as the pleasant mild climate are just a few reasons to spend your holidays here.

In this exceptional outstanding landscape, in the small community of Mošćenička Draga my parents built – according to their professional qualifications – a beautiful guesthouse, the Villa-Inge. The small fishing village (approx. 1,500 inhabitants) is situated in the Kvarner Bay and adjoins to the Croatian nature park Učka. Mošćenička Draga is first mentioned in kept documents in 1436.

Istria – Mošćenička Draga – Rooms and Apartments

In the immediate vicinity of the Villa-Inge there are several well-maintained pebble beaches as well as a nudist beach and a large number of forest and mountain paths. On foot, you can reach the medieval town of Mošćenice that was built on cliffs, 178 meters above sea level.

The promenade “Lungomare” runs along the sea and ends on the most beautiful beach of the area – Sv. Ivan – (approx. 100 meters to the Villa-Inge). When taking a walk on the promenade you will feel the sea with all your senses. Plenty of green vegetation with Mediterranean plants will accompany you on this walk and will provide a pleasant well-being that you will remember.

Guest House Villa Inge - Istria

The first guests were accommodated in Villa-Inge in the mid-1980s. Seven double-rooms and since 2005 five other apartments (suites) are available to the guests. A communal lounge/breakfast room and terraces around the villa, complete the offer. A parking lot is available for every guest of our guest house.

The Beach - Sipar und Sv. Ivan

If it is spoken about Mošćenička Draga, it is associated with a wonderful beach. Two stars among the beaches in Croatia – Sipar and Sv. Ivan. Here you will find the most beautiful pebbles of the Kvarner Bay and probably of the entire Adriatic.

These beaches on the Riviera were already referred to as the most beautiful beaches of the Riviera of Opatija by the Croatian poet Richard Katalinic Jeretov in one of his poems. The locals call these stones “Sipar”. The beaches of Mošćenička Draga were created for decades with the fine white stones from the rubble of the mountain stream Draškoga Potoka which flows from the mountains of Ucka to the sea, and shaped by the ocean waves for years.
